Blog 'Ever Enough'
That’s right! If you are an upcoming artist then Ever Enough was written for you. This track contains motivational song lyrics, telling upcoming artists to never give up and keep chasing their dreams. It is easy to become unmotivated with your music career while there are so many other things in life to take care of. Dave knows this because of personal experience. In Ever Enough he explains how he has created a balance between working & chilling.
Dave starts off his verse with: ‘I see many talented artists in my followers list’, speaking directly to his following on social media. He explains that many people will doubt you as an upcoming artist and that you should use this as a fuel to go even harder for your goals.
In his verse, Dave pays homage to Hip Hop veterans Lloyd Banks, Tupac, Eminem, Rakim, Wu-Tang & The Lox. Saying that he is so good at rapping because he has learned a lot from the likes of them.
Dave also raps: “Some people talk a lot of sh*t but never get to the plot. While a man of few words can often tell you a lot”. With these lines Dave wants you to put certain things in perspective and says that you don’t always have to look up to the loudest person in the room. Maybe you should learn to listen to the quiet one for once?
In the hook Dave tells you to “do it with the strength of your heart” and says that you have to work hard but don’t forget to relax every now and then. Dave also points out that life is rough and wonders for a moment “Is it Ever Enough?”. Then he responds to himself, saying: “All the ashes will return to the dust”, meaning that eventually, it will be enough. So take punch after punch, hit after hit and don’t quit. Become that independent artist you want to be and put yourself out there!
In the second verse, Dutch rap artist Karel jumps in and his verse perfectly matches Dave’s. They kind of stayed in the same lane of how they approached the beat and that is what completes the song. In his verse Karel raps lines like: “I guess being honest has too much pressure on it. You couldn’t tell me the truth if your life depended on it.” He is straight to the point with his delivery and if you would be at the receiving end, it would probably hurt your feelings a little. Karel has a really cool way of showing his thought-process through his song lyrics.
